What it does

One register, not a second price list

Each unit is a physical instance of an Item in the catalogue. Serial number, location and value belong to the unit; the price comes from the same catalogue as the rest of the system, so there are never two truths about what something costs.

Free for this exact window

Availability is decided in one place, against the window you ask for. A projector back at 16:00 is not out again at 16:00 — setup and turnaround time are built into the calculation.

Inspection dates that actually stop a booking

Equipment with a validity requirement cannot be reserved once its inspection has expired — and validity is measured against the event's dates, not today's. Gear whose date lapses mid-conference is blocked for the whole period.

Rigs that hold together

A rig is its equipment: reserve the rig and everything in it is reserved at once, and a single part that is taken makes the whole rig unavailable.

Hand-out, return and condition

Who has what right now, and what came back in which condition — with timestamps and photos. The log cannot be edited after the fact; corrections are new rows. Equipment returned damaged is blocked until it is cleared.

Service and external rental

Service is planned as a task in the same task system as the rest of the house. Rental — internally to events or to external customers — is invoiced through the existing paths, against the same customer register.

For the conference hotel

A conference venue rigs its rooms over and over. The module answers whether the PA for the plenary is actually free, has a valid inspection and is back in time for the next session — and lets you rent equipment to the organiser in the same move.

What it does not do

Deposits and damage liability are not in the first version. Damage is recorded and blocks further bookings, but charging for it comes later.
No barcode or QR scanning at hand-out yet, and no sub-hire of equipment you do not own.
Depreciation and insurance valuation are not reported. The register holds purchase cost and condition, not accounting value.
An open service task does not block a booking on its own — a person puts the equipment into service. The system suggests, you decide.
